If we had to do a series of images of awful films where Aishwarya Rai looked amazing - Shabd would hover near the top. Though the film recovered its cost and budget, the movie under-performed considering the size of the cast. Aishwarya Rai looked dreamier than ever before - experimenting with her style and wardrobe. Sanjay Dutt as a writer was miscast. Zayed Khan, always in the list of Top Ten Worst Bollywood actors of all time/tying with Fardeen Khan, was cast as a professor. Truly a joke from the get-go. Decent music, great visuals, and at least an attempt at something novel... but really, nothing worked. The songs were hits - and on a loop on TV that year.
