Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan at 16th Mumbai film festival

Clad in a sari, the simply stunning Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan made a rare public appearance at the opening ceremony of the 16th Mumbai film festival organized by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI). The event kicked off with a speech from noted filmmaker and MAMI Chairman, Shyam Benegal in the presence of cinema citizens such as producer/director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Bollywood actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, among others.

With a long absence from films felt by her fans, rumours have been circulating she's signed on for Jazbaa, set to start shooting in December 2014.

The impossibly high bar of beauty set by Aishwarya Rai herself, she has had to carry the burden of the hyperbola most often attached with her name; 'world's most beautiful woman'. And she does. With panache and an ease that seems all too natural, she's faced her critics head on, with an easy smile that remains unabated. With her fluctuating weight being an issue for tabloids and trolls [galore online!], Rai's effervescence and drop-dead good looks remain intact, her aura undimmed. as the above pics clearly show.

In a world of pebbles and granite, she's the rarest of diamonds.
