The face of Indian cinema according to TIME; Aishwarya Rai

Released in September of 2000, the first of seven films featuring Aishwarya Rai and the man who ended up marrying her, Abhishek Bachchan, Dhai Akshar Prem Ke is... mostly missable. The songs are lovely, Ash dances like a dream, but the movie goes no where fast.

Mera maahi bada sona hai was a highlight song and dance routine in the film. Ash looks.. well, like the chiseled perfection goddess that she is. The dance is a bit... frantic in parts. She dazzles nevertheless.

Raveena Tandon's portrait for Patthar ke Phool

Raveena Tandon's portrait for Patthar ke Phool

The hair flip over the chunri - such a casual touch but was such a fashion moment in the 90s

The extremely photogenic and lovely "ravishing Raveena..."

Seeing double or triple? An Iconic Bollywood costume: The Ready-made modern Sari on Vyjanthimala, Mumtaz and Leena Chandavarkar

Leena Chandavarkar in Preetam (1971)

A near replica of Mumtaz's look from Brahmachari (1968) designed by Academy-award winner Bhanu Athaiya.

Even further back, Vyjanthimala in Jewel Thief (1967) in a similar cut, colour, gold-stripe, accessory styling...

As Diet Sabya would call it, "Gandi copy..."

Actually, its pretty damn good copy!
