The Black Lace Sari: Aishwarya Rai Miss World stuns the world: 2005

When Aishwarya Rai walked in with her family to the wedding reception of Zayed Khan and Malaika Parekh in 2005, all eyes, and we do mean all eyes were on the slim, svelte and stunning actress.

In the wake of an ugly break-up with her then boyfriend Salman Khan, Ash rocked the post-breakup look and how. Known the world over for her epic beauty, the normally conservative and shy actress had never looked hotter for an event.

The tan and the lace saree and the barely-there-blouse, Aishwarya at the peak of her legendary beauty.

A Simple White Shirt: Aishwarya Rai

Rockin' the minimalist look, Aishwarya Rai in a simple white shirt. Looking wow. As usual.

Woman in Blue: Aishwarya Rai, Dec 2005

For the Dec 2005 cover shoot of Filmfare, the beautiful-beyond-words Aishwarya Rai. This gorgeous series was shot by her regular photographer Dabboo Ratnani. The hippie dippie blue slip dress, the zero accessories, just her bejeweling eyes... the stylist got it right. The simpler her look, the more stunning Rai looks.

Gorge.

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan's first post marriage event attendance. So pretty in pink she looks... and that killer eye stare. And the way she looks at him. swoon.

Aishwarya Rai's L'Oreal Advert

A great shoot from Aishwarya Rai's L'Oreal. Wish there were more pics from this series... esp a clear shot of the second pic in the back.

Aishwarya Rai in NY Times

These exquisite portraits of Aishwarya Rai taken for New York Times.

"When I got the assignment to shoot some Indian
actress in town, I had just returned from a shoot in
Milan, jet-lagged and feeling like the dog's
breakfast. Rai came in with her posse of agents and I
thought, man, diva is going to be problematic. She
said "Hi", shook hands with everyone, sat on the couch
and we were ready to go.

That face. From every angle, light and scope, I rarely
use the word perfection but... holy crap. I felt my
senses shed the time lag, I started breaking into a
sweat when I looked through my lense and my fingers
were getting wet. We had 20 minutes to do the
portraiture and I kept shooting non stop - like a 49
calibre rifle that never missed its target. In the
spreadsheet, about ninety percent of the shots were
good for print.

When she was about to leave, I was like a hormonal
teen wishing she'd stay longer. I didn't want the
dream to end. I was stuttering and talking like Yoda,
"Good thanking you I much."
