If we had to do a series of images of awful films where Aishwarya Rai looked amazing - Shabd would hover near the top. Though the film recovered its cost and budget, the movie under performed considering the size of the cast. Aishwarya Rai looked dreamier than ever before - experimenting with her style and wardrobe. Sunjay Dutt as a writer was miscast. Zayed Khan - always in the list of Top Ten Worst Bollywood actors of all time - tying with Fardeen Khan) as a professor was a joke from the get-go.
