There were several rumours in the 1970s--vehemently denied by Rekha on Rendezvous with Simi Garewal--that the actor and actress were briefly married. She said he was a well-wisher and left it at that.

Sure, it had a huge star-cast with the infamous late shenanigans of lead Govinda (you can go down a YouTube spiral of stars, film producers, co-actors' anecdotes of Govinda being late by several hours to several days!). 

Albela recovered costs but it'll mostly be remembered purely for the songs and Aishwarya Rai looking dazzling next to earthy Govinda and what a rare and never again repeated combo.
